This \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eparticular East West belongs to the Autumn–Winter 2018 collection and was crafted in black cuir envolé, which with i\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ets finely patterned surface contrasts well with the smooth black leather of the handle and central closure. Beyond this what is particularly beautiful is that once she gets exposed to the sunshine, the small shaded hair on the calf skin provides the body a shine and depth a simple plain black leather could not supply. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAlready back in 1969 Delvaux launched a very different elongated version of the Brillant the \"\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/mydaydaybelgium.com\/products\/delvaux-brillant-rouille-1969-brun?_pos=2\u0026amp;_psq=delvaux+rouille\u0026amp;_psid=69507e3c8\u0026amp;_ss=e\" title=\"Delvaux Brillant Rouille East West\"\u003eRouillé\"  \u003c\/a\u003eIt had a much softer and flatter shape, whilst giving the Brillant a more sporty look and still keeping to its stunning box calf elegance. As a collector, it has been a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003etrue pleasure to see Delvaux re-interprete the Brillant's original 1958's design yet again, with the Brillant East West. Yet again they managed to take this Brillant icon 60 years after its inspiring debut and managed to add a new twist to its story. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe love this elegant reintroduction of the Brillant's faux jumeau  and love the subtle double play on its name: On the one side it so obviously focuses on its geometric shape - completely adapting the feel of this bag, whilst firmly keeping in touch with its identity - and on the other side it hints at the new doors opening to Delvaux la maison. Global expansion - a Belgian brand and design travelling east, being rediscovered and worn by women \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewho brought their own lives and tastes to it. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Rouillé gives us a reason to look back, and the name gives us a reason to think about where Delvaux was going. But it is the Cuir Envolé which makes this particular Brillant East West worth spending a little more time with. Even after following its history, we find ourselves returning to the bag and looking more closely at the leather interpretation which is out of this world.
