This Delvaux Brillant MM from the 1990s comes in jumping leather and a shiny golden buckle. An architectural masterpiece by interior designer Paule Goethals for the maison Delvaux, its beauty is also its seeming simplicity. Taking more than 8-9 hours to assemble its various 64 pieces, it is far from a simple craft, but rather an architectural marvel that remains a continuous head turner since 1958, when this first issuing of this model, but more quietly and discreetly so than the more easily recognised, but in no way better or definitely more accessible than Hermès. This bag is for a connaisseur, as much as for the collector of beauty in its purest form. Carried no matter if across the shoulder or in hand, it naturally melts and takes to its owner like only modern tailoring can. It lends gravity, substance and intention to any outfit, whilst not outshining its wearer, but rather softly speaking to it surrounding with appreciation. It dresses and it accompanies the like and remains an investment and a classic necessity for life of one and several generations after.
