As often with their  toile de cuir designs - yet again Delvaux chose the world of wine to inspired and name its bag. The Grelon addresses the sensitive issue of crop damage - When severe summer thunderstorms drop heavy showers of grêlons on vineyards, these ice stones may batter, bruise, and strip grapevines, puncture grape skins, and break young shoots. It has the ability to devastate entire harvests and admittedly this may not be the best way to introduce you the thinking behind the design of this bag. However there is an entirely positive flip side to the story -hail bring a very positive aspect to the agriculture of the vineyards - after a hot summer leaving dry soils, the slow melting ice allows for soil penetration unlike simple rain washing over it. It leaves a lasting impression, a fresh wind - a long awaited relief after the hot summer. This is much more how we muse position the design of this beautiful piece and its joyful colourful choice of the leather, which through its hail drop shaped mousqueton lock opening gives a feeling of new and refreshment to the usual day to day look.
