The Brillant started life rather seriously. Initially inspired by the Philips Pavilion of the world expo in Brussels 1958 - its construction is an architectural masterpiece of 64 separately assembled leather and metal pieces that have become an bag icon today. With this 2021 edition however the Brillant puts on lipstick.
Shrunk down to mini proportions, the colour works beautifully with this close to mathematically symmetry that the Brillant brings and adds a little personality. Like the Belgian's taking themselves less serious the Brillant lipstick to a certain extend removes some of the seriousness to the architecture and adds a clever final gesture to the box calf - like when you put it on leaving the house.... As we know a little colour is capable of changing everything without actually changing much at all.The Brillant is in exceptionally condition and comes authenticated and its dust bag. There is a minor pen mark to the interior side - irritatingly, the only real blemish on an otherwise remarkably preserved bag, but then again, perhaps a bag called the lipstick was always destined to carry one tiny mark somewhere.
