Designed in 1956 this beautiful box calf over the shoulder / top handle bag is in excellent condition. Made for the winter "elements" collection its name hints at the torrential rains hitting south east asia, with a wink to the Belgian weather...
It's interior is incredible.... It opens up to multiple layers of different supple calf leather and compartments and finishes on brass side clasps that still gleam after nearly 7 decades ,...it feels like a secret garden with its high walls protecting the sweetest most mysterious looking place... .In 1956 elegance wasn't rushed, every stitch, every line was hand designed and marked by rulers and pen drawings. Quality was not a slogan, it was a promise handed over from the designer to the artisan all the way to the end customer, who would then treasure the bag, preserve it and then pass it down in family, where it has touched decade after decade, bridging time and bridging mysteries. 
Already finding a Delvaux piece from this period and slowly uncovering its history has been the greatest privilege and it impresses Mydaydaybelgium how its design remains timeless and continues into the future.
