This beautifully understated Delvaux Brillant from the 1980s, in elegant taupe colour and exquisite box calf leather was created more than two decades after the Brillant was first introduced in 1958. Its sculptural trapezoid silhouette, distinctive buckle and beautifully constructed top handle give the bag an unmistakable presence, while the soft taupe shade makes it particularly sophisticated and easy to wear.
Neither quite beige nor grey, the colour changes subtly depending on the light and offers a softer alternative to the traditional black or brown Brillant. Paired with its classic still in house goldened hardware, it has the wonderfully discreet character that makes vintage Delvaux so appealing today.
Designed to be carried by its top handle, without a shoulder strap, this is the Brillant in its most traditional form: elegant, structured and wonderfully ladylike. Despite its 1980s origins, the design feels remarkably relevant more than forty years later.
